EGYPT
HISTORY: Egypt reached the height of its power in the New Kingdom, ruling much of Nubia and a large portion of the Near East, before it entered into a period of decline. The Egyptian civilization’s success came mostly from its ability to adapt to the conditions of the Nile River Valley for agriculture.
GEOGRAPHY: Egypt was a civilization of ancient North Africa, located along the lower parts of the Nile River, located in what is now the country of Egypt.:
ECONOMY: Though the Egyptians did not use coins and money, initially, they used a type of money-barter system, where labor was traded for goods.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Ancient Egyptians achieved many things; the quarrying, surveying, and construction techniques that supported the building of monumental pyramids, temples and obelisks; a system of mathematics, an effective and practical system of medicine, and agricultural production techniques.
GOVERNMENT: The absolute monarch of the country was the pharoah, who had complete control of the land and its resources.
