WHEN: Mercury has been observed and recognized as a planet since ancient times.
HOW: It is known by visual and radar observations from Earth; was visited by US spacecraft ‘Mariner 10’ in 1974-1975 and by ‘Messenger’ in 2008-2015
Interesting Facts: It has the shortest ‘year’ of any planet.
Mercury is very difficult to see with the your eyes,
because it is so close to the Sun.
