Saturn

WHEN – Mankind has recognized Saturn as a planet since ancient times;
it is the last of the five visible planets.
HOW – Early astronomers easily observed Saturn; it is the last of the five planets visible to the
eye in the night sky. After telescopes were invented, they were able to observe its
fabulous set of rings. US spacecraft Pioneer 11 flew by Jupiter in 1979 and Voyager 1
flew by in 1980. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft arrived in 2004 and sent a small
probe into Jupiter.
Interesting Fact: Saturn is mostly made of hydrogen gas, and is so light it would actually float!
It has a moon called Titan which has an atmosphere and is larger than
